TAXILA: Pindigheb on Saturday has become the first town of Attock district to get a state-of-the-art dialysis centre.

The centre established at the tehsil headquarters hospital was inaugurated by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider. PPP district President Ashar Hayat Khan, senior leader Malik Amnat Rawal, Sardar Faizan Khan, chief executive officer District Health Authority Dr Asad Ismail and officials of the district and health department were present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said dialysis centres would also be established at Fatehjang, Jand and Hassanabdal to provide better healthcare facilities to the citizens at their doorsteps. He said like Rawalpindi and Islamabad, electric buses would be introduced on all routes of the district Attock soon.

He also said Punjab University’s sub-campus at Fatehjang and University of Engineering and Technology’s sub-campus in Jand would start working soon, adding efforts were being made to establish a women’s campus of the university in Pindigheb.

The governor said Pindigheb, Fatehjang and Jand tehsils were less developed in the education sector and through establishment of these sub-campuses an educational revolution will take place in these areas.

“Attock district would embark on a new era of development and prosperity as work on a number of development projects, including the establishment of sub-campuses of universities and health facilities, would be initiated during the next fiscal year,” he added.

He said the current political set-up cannot function for a single day without the PPP. He said PPP is a people-centric party that thrives on connecting with the masses, but the party was cornered under a conspiracy.
