TOBA TEK SINGH: After the litigation started some 24 years ago about the declaration of caretaker of Hazrat Sultan Bahu’s shrine, the court finally declared Sahibzada Najeeb Sultan as 10th Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine.

A civil suit was under trial before the court of the senior civil judge Jhang involving Sajjada Nasheen Sahibzada Najeeb Sultan and his cousin, former Sajjada Nasheen Sahibzada Muneeb Sultan since 2001. Senior Civil Judge Rana Muhammad Ilyas announced the decision on March 26. Its certified copy consisting of 31 pages was issued by the court on Saturday.

The court order explained that plaintiff Sahibzada Najeeb Sultan had been declared as Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine of Sultan Bahu (R.A) and perpetually restrained Sahibzada Muneeb Sultan from holding the spiritual office of Sajjada Nasheen.

Shrine of Sultan Bahu, the Sufi mystic, scholar and Punjabi poet of the 17th century (1630-1691), has the following of millions of people.
