KASUR: A minor girl who was attacked and injured by a mentally-challenged man a couple of weeks ago in Kot Murad Khan, succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

The mentally-challenged man was tortured by mob and handed over to local police two weeks back. Later, he was found dead at a heap of trash. However, police did not initiate any inquiry regarding the death of the man due to the absence of any complainant.

Police said the mentally-challenged man attacked Safeera, 10, with successive attacks of bricks when she was on her way to school. Safeera suffered serious injuries and was rushed to DHQ hospital but was referred to Lahore General Hospital in a critical condition where she died.
