LAHORE: A poacher was arrested, Rs40,000 fine was imposed in four cases while dozens of illegal duck hunting shelters were destroyed on the Indus river.

According to a press release, the director general of Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department, along with the Chief Wildlife Ranger, is actively pursuing poachers of wildlife and birds in Punjab. As a result of these efforts, the wildlife staff in the Dera Ghazi Khan region destroyed numerous illegal hunting shelters established by duck hunters on the Indus.

According to details, under the leadership of Deputy Chief Wildlife Ranger Muhammad Hussain Gishkori, Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Sidra Al-Muntaha, along with her team, demolished dozens of illegal hunting shelters set up by duck hunters on the Indus River.

In another operation, the wildlife staff in Muzaffargarh arrested a poacher engaged in the illegal hunting of quails and filed a case against him. The court sent the suspect to judicial remand for 14 days. Additionally, the court imposed a fine of Rs40,000 rupees on illegal hunters in four cases.
