GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency claimed on Wednesday to have arrested at least five human traffickers and agents from Sialkot, Narowal and Gujranwala districts of the region during the ongoing crackdown.

A spokesman for FIA said Umar Sultan of Dak Khana Mrali Bubak, Narowal, has been arrested in cases number 31/25 and 32/25 of FIA Gujranwala circle.

The suspect in case no.31/25 extorted Rs2,700,000 for sending the complainant’s son to Cyprus for employment but did not do so and in case no. 32/25, he received Rs600,000 for sending a complainant to Cyprus for job employment but failed to do so.

Another suspect Shauat Ali of Dak Khana Wdala Sandhuan of Daska, Sialkot district, has been arrested in case number 1046/24 of FIA Gujranwala.

The suspect extorted Rs290,000 for sending complainant’ son to Albania for employment but did not send him.

The agent namely Muhammad Ramzan of Rana Colony, Gujranwala, who was a proclaimed offender, has been arrested in case number 330/19 dated 24-06-19 u/s 17/22 EO 1979 PS FIA Gujranwala.

The spokesman said Ramzan received an amount of Rs400,000 from the complainant for sending her son to Canada for overseas employment, but did not fulfil his commitment.

Similarly the human trafficker namely M.yousif of Sadoki village of Kamoke has been arrested in case number 131/25 of FIA Gujranwala.

The suspect got Rs2.8 million from the complainant for sending his son to Spain for employment but did not honour the commitment.

Another agent Muhammad Irfan of Thatha Umra, Daska tehsil, has been arrested in case number 77/25 of FIA Gujranwala.

Irfan extorted an amount of Rs410,000 from complainant Muhammad Riaz of Daska on the pretext of sending his son to Muscat on work visa.

Further investigation is underway.
