QUETTA: Five bullet-riddled bodies found in Awaran and Shaban, a picnic spot some 20km from Quetta, were identified on Wednesday.

Four bodies were recovered from Shaban and brought to the Civil Hospital Quetta by police on Monday, where they remained unclaimed. Another body was discovered in Awaran town.

The four victims from Shaban were later identified as Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Harooni and Zubair Ahmed Harooni from Kalat, and Shahzeb Shahwani and Naeem Ahmed Shahwani from Dasht. The body found in Awaran was identified as Hameedullah.

According to human rights organisations, the victims had been reported missing for past many weeks. They have called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
