DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has taken strict disciplinary action against several of its office-bearers in Dera Ghazi Khan for hosting Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr, grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, for his anti-PPP stance.

The party has issued show-cause notices and suspended key officials, citing violations of party discipline and principles.

PPP divisional president Meer Asif Khan Dasti and General Secretary Qazi Ihsanullah Khan, in a joint statement, reiterated the party’s commitment to self-discipline and collective decision-making. They said that any breach of party discipline would not be tolerated and that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

The officials who have been issued show-cause notices include: district president Behram Buzdar, divisional president of People’s Youth Hafiz Muhammad Jahangir, PPP tehsil president Manzoor Qadir Khan and Cultural Wing information secretary of South Punjab Saifullah Malghani.

They have been given 15 days to respond to the notices issued by the PPP division office and the South Punjab provincial office.

Also, PPP South Punjab president Ahmad Mahmood has ordered the immediate suspension of these officials from their positions. Dr Ashu Lal, president of the party’s cultural wing, has also been suspended. The suspended officials are barred from performing their duties with immediate effect.
