LAHORE: A local court in Multan on Thursday issued arrest warrants for all four sons of Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for allegedly defying orders in a case pertaining to interference in government matters during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The warrants for Mr Gilani’s sons — MNAs Abdul Qadir, Ali Musa and Ali Qasim; and Punjab Assembly member Ali Haider — were issued by Judicial Magistrate Shahid Hasan Mughal.
The magistrate ordered Chehlak police to arrest the suspects and produce them before the court.
The arrest orders are based on allegations that the Gilani brothers had interfered with government operations and violated ordinances during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The court also issued arrest warrants for former MPA Usman Bhatti and 19 others. These individuals are accused of violating ordinances and interfering with governmental duties during the pandemic.
The allegations date back to the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, when strict ordinances were in place to manage the public health crisis.
The suspects are said to have defied these ordinances, leading to their current legal troubles.
