GWADAR: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has announced a shutter-down strike across Turbat on Wednesday against the attack on the principal and director of a private school.

Sharif Zakir, known in the Makran area for his social work, was injured in the gun attack carried out by unidentified men in the Koshak Malikabad area of Turbat. He was taken to district hospital where he was admitted.

Also, a hand grenade was hurled at his residence last night.

Meanwhile, the family of Hayat Sabzal, who was found shot dead on the outskirts of Panjgur town a day earlier, took his body to a BYC protest camp at Fida Shaheed Chowk in Turbat on Tuesday.

The authorities had handed over his body to the family in Panjgur after completing medico-legal formalities. However, the family shifted the body to the BYC’s protest camp. The relatives claimed he had been taken away by armed men on July 3, 2024.
