QUETTA: Unknown armed assailants opened fire and killed a man in the provincial capital on Thursday.

Police said motorcyclists opened fire on a vehicle in the Raisani Road area, resulting in the death of one person on the spot. He was identified as Gul Ahmad. His body was shifted to the district hospital.

After receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began collecting evidence while searching for the culprits.

Later, the family of the deceased staged a protest by placing the body in front of Civil Hospital, causing traffic disruptions on Jinnah Road.

The protesters said they would continue the protest until the perpetrators were arrested.
