CHARSADDA: The students of Tangi College and local residents staged a protest here on Thursday against the brutal murder of a student by unknown assailants in Prang Ghar in jurisdiction of Tangi police station.

Deceased Adnan Mohammad belonging to Abbazai, Prang Ghar, Mohmand district, was a student of government college Tangi. He was gunned down by unknown assailants. His family members said that they had no enmity with anybody.

Tangi police have registered an FIR and started investigation.

The protesters chanting slogans blocked the Tangi Mor Khatam-i-Nabuwwat Chowk to all kinds of traffic.

During the protest, student leaders Amir Afghan and Qari Salahuddin along with local residents addressed the protesting crowd, demanding the government and higher authorities to swiftly arrest assailants and bring them to justice. They also demanded provision of justice to the victim’s family.

They expressed deep concern over the law and order situation in Tangi and called for provision of security to the public. The protesters said that if justice was not served, they would expand the scope of their protests.
