‘Drug addict’ ends life after killing man in Mardan

MARDAN: A drug addict died by suicide after killing a man over a petty dispute in Hosai locality of Takhtbai here on Monday, the police said.

Police registered an FIR in the murder case on the complaint of Ghulam Haider, father of the deceased, identified as Nasir.

The complainant said that the suspected killer, identified as Waleed Akbar, was the driver of his son’s car. He said the suspect was a drug addict, and his son often took him to the doctor for treatment.

On the day of the occurrence, he told the police that the deceased went to the house of Akbar in the morning to take him to relevant doctor for treatment. However, Akbar opened fire on his son with a pistol and then he also shot himself dead.

After lodging FIR, the police began further investigation into the case.
