LAHORE: The digitisation of the remaining 6,103 of the 29,613 villages/mauzas is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
An official source told Dawn the digitisation of over 90 pc rural mauzas has already been completed whereas the work on the remaining ones, including many urban ones, is underway. The total number of mauzas in Punjab are 29,613.
He said of 6103, the record of 2,234 has been scanned whereas the verification reports from the respective DCs have been sought about 1,467 mauzas.
To a question, the official said the digitisation of the 90pc of the total rural mauzas was done by the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) under Punjab Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS). However, the digitisation of the record of the remaining 6,103 mauzas is being carried out under the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) project which is funded by the World Bank.
Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Nabeel Javed visited the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) project. He was accompanied by PLRA DG Akram-ul-Haq and PULSE project directors.
Senior Member Nabeel Javed, during a visit to the Pulse project office on Thursday, reviewed the ongoing works, including data entry and the preparation of cadastral maps.
“Punjab’s land record must be digitised completely by all means by end of February,” he sought while speaking on the occasion.
The PLRA DG gave SMBR a detailed briefing on the online portal, the survey of informal settlements, and the “One Owner, One Window” initiative being implemented across Punjab. An interactive demonstration of digital tools aimed at simplifying land records, mutations, and other services for the public was also presented on the occasion.
Uplift schemes: The Lahore district administration has accelerated pace of work on 347 development schemes in the city under the Lahore Development Plan.
According to a spokesman, the DC while visiting various schemes directed officers to ensure quality.
On the other hand, various teams of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed as many as 87 properties on account of nonpayment of commercialisation fee and panelties, according to a spokesman.
