ISLAMABAD: Speakers at a book launch on Senator Dr Karim Ahmed Khuwaja titled ‘A Legislative Odyssey’ on Wednesday lauded the contributions of the senator towards strengthening the parliamentary proceedings.

The event celebrated a ground breaking publication that chronicles the legislative journey and contributions of Senator Dr Karim Ahmed Khuwaja, was held at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services.

This book is the first of its kind in Pakistan, offering a comprehensive legislative biography of a parliamentarian.

It highlights Senator Dr Khuwaja’s extensive contributions to policymaking, his commitment to public service, and his enduring efforts to strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan.

The event was graced by a distinguished audience, including parliamentarians, vice chancellors, professors, researchers, media representatives, and students from Parliamentary Studies Programmes.

The book launch ceremony was chaired by Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and was attended among others by former Senator Farhatullah Babar and Senator Karim Ahmed Khwaja.

While Senator Dr. Karim Ahmed Khuwaja expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment of his work and emphasised the importance of documenting parliamentary contributions to inspire future leaders and promote research in this vital area.

The book is expected to benefit a wide audience, including parliamentarians seeking insights into legislative practices, researchers aiming to understand the dynamics of policymaking, and students pursuing Parliamentary Studies.

The event marked a significant milestone in promoting a culture of documentation and recognition of legislative achievements in Pakistan, paving the way for a deeper understanding of democratic governance

In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the book’s significance as a valuable resource for understanding legislative processes, addressing policymaking challenges, and examining the role of effective leadership in Parliament.

They emphasised that this initiative is the first of its kind, encapsulating extensive work on parliamentary business.

The book is expected to play a pivotal role in educating the people of Pakistan about parliamentary proceedings and their impact on the nation’s progress and development.
