OKARA: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Friday the construction of a medical college in Okara and a girls’ hostel and an underpass for the University of Okara.

She was addressing the 8th ceremony of her Honhaar Scholarship programme at the UoE.

She announced Rs72.9 million for 1,438 male and female students of the public sector education institutions of Sahiwal division, including UO, Okara sub-campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Sahiwal Medical College and Government College for Women, Okara. She gave away five laptops to students and promised the same for other students.

She announced completing the projects of the University of Okara under her supervision as Okara “is very close to Nawaz Sharif and my heart. I cannot express in words the amount of joy by seeing talented students in Okara. I have come to talk to children from the core of my heart.”

She said now even children with low income could study in LUMS, NUST and FAST.

She asked students to focus their attention on building their careers.
