SUKKUR: A young woman was throttled by her husband and brothers-in-law who threw her body in a desolated place near embankment of Indus River along Ring Road within the jurisdiction of the SITE police station here on Friday.

Police took the body into custody and shifted it to hospital for post mortem examination where the body was identified as that of 23-year-old Abida wife of Rasheed Mirani, said police officials.

They said that the victim was throttled by her husband and brothers-in-law in the name of honour. The suspects and their family members had fled their home in Pirzada locality before police’s raid, they said.
