SUKKUR: Gangsters riding several motorcycles opened fire on a car killing a lawyer and wounding a revenue clerk along the Indus Highway within the jurisdiction of the Bakhshapur police station of Kandhkot on Friday.

The deceased was later identified as Advocate Noor Mohammad alias Ali Mangi and the wounded clerk as Ramzan Mirani. They were on their way to Kashmore from Kandhkot when the assailants signalled them to stop the car but, sensing danger, the driver tried to speed away. The assailants fired a volley of shots at the moving car and fled the area, the police said.

Three brothers die in road accident

Three young brothers were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a tractor-driven trolley transporting sugar cane to a mill in the Tando Masti area of Khairpur district on late Thursday evening. The accident took place along a link road leading to the mills.

The deceased were identified as 16-year-old Javed Abro and his younger brothers Sikandar and Nadeem.
