LAHORE: Two suspects were killed in an alleged encounter with the police in the Nawab Town area here on Tuesday.

Police chased the suspects soon after it was reported that they were involved in street crime.

According to the police version, on seeing policemen on the Abdul Sattar Edhi Road, the armed men opened fire, which led to an armed clash. During the crossfire, two of the suspects got bullet injuries by the ‘firing of their own accomplices’. As the guns fell silent, two suspects were found dead, a police official said, adding that they were later identified as Sajjad and Zeeshan Ali who had criminal records.

He said the two other suspects managed to escape. The bodies were shifted to the morgue for autopsy.
