QUETTA: The Election Tribunal of Balochistan High Court, headed by Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana, on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed against PML-N MNA Jamal Shah Kakar and retained him as the National Assembly member.

Mr contested election for the National Assembly seat NA-263 (Quetta) on the ticket of PML-N and defeated his opponents, including PkMAP chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai, PTI’s Salar Khan Kakar and others in the February 8 general election.

The PTI candidate had challenged the victory of PML-N-backed candidate alleging rigging in the election and filed a petition in the election tribunal.
