CHARSADDA: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Abdul Karim Khan has said that efforts were being made to promote industries and provide all kinds of facilities to workers and industrialists.

He expressed these views while addressing the oath taking ceremony of newly-elected office-bearers of the Charsadda Chambers of Commerce and Industry for both men and women here the other day.

He urged the industrialists to move their factories and businesses to the local small industrial estate to take advantage of the facilities being provided here on the instructions of the chief minister. He said the chamber was playing a role of bridge between government departments and industrialists to solve their problems and provide loans and other facilities to them for enhancing their productivity.

On this occasion ,the CM aide administered oath to the chamber’s office-bearers, while former governor Haji Ghulam Ali administered oath to the women chamber’s office-bearers.

Former governor Haji Ghulam Ali, Tehsil Chairman Mufti Abdul Rauf Shakir, senior vice president of chamber Nauman Akbar John Khan, Mohmand Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s former president Sajjad Ali, former provincial minister Barrister Arshad Abdullah and others also addressed the ceremony .

The CM aide said that billions of rupees had been earmarked for the provision of grants to industrialists, adding that a huge amount was also being released to support business activities by women, persons with disabilities and transgender persons. He urged the entrepreneurs to take advantage of these facilities being provided by the provincial government.

He said promotion of industry and business was vital for providing employment opportunities to youth to save them from drugs and negative activities.

Abdul Karim Khan said that Charsadda was well known for business activities including production of gur (jiggery), shoes making and Khaddar clothes etc. He maintained that all possible efforts were being made for marketing of these products.
