A special flight carrying 70 Pakistani nationals who were evacuated from Lebanon arrived in Karachi this morning, Radio Pakistan reports.

The Pakistani nationals were welcomed at the Jinnah International Airport by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, federal education minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and provincial minister Ikramullah Dharejo.

According to the Foreign Office, the Pakistani nationals repatriated from Lebanon travelled to the Syrian capital of Damascus by road, from where they were airlifted to Pakistan. Four Pakistanis from Syria are also among them.

The citizens’ security, transport and food arrangements were made by the Pakistan embassies in Lebanon and Syria to ensure smooth evacuation through Lebanon, Radio Pakistan added.
