Germany denies suspending arms exports to Israel

The DPA news agency reported the denial after Reuters, quoting a source close to the German government, reported that Berlin has put a hold on new exports of weapons to Israel while it deals with legal challenges, Al Jazeera reports.

“There is no moratorium on arms exports to Israel, and there will be no moratorium,” a spokesman for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, which is responsible for the matter, told the DPA.

Figures published by Reuters, however, show a sharp decline in German arms sales to Israel this year.
