MANSEHRA: Hazara division commissioner Zaheerul Islam has constituted a three-member committee to probe the cases lodged by the anti-corruption establishment against five revenue officials.

“The probe body would determine whether the ACE should have lodged cases against revenue officials before conducting departmental inquiries against them,” Mohammad Sohail, the settlement officer, Mansehra, and head of the committee, told reporters here on Tuesday.

The revenue officials throughout Hazara had gone on a pen-down strike last week after the ACE lodged FIRs against revenue officers/officials, including tehsildar Gul Rehman, girdawars Mohammad Siddique and Dilnawaz, patwaris Hamad and Tanveer in Mansehra, Haripur and Abbottabad.

The inquiry committee also includes Hasrat Khan, assistant commissioner, Torghar, and additional assistant commissioner (revenue), Haripur, Ijaz Jadoon.

“The committee shall thoroughly examine cases registered against revenue officers and collectors to ascertain the veracity of the allegations levelled against them in light of the facts and figures, and submit its recommendations along with findings within a week positively,” a notification issued by the Hazara commissioner said.
