“I admire the courage and determination of the families, the vaccinators and the health workers involved in the campaign,” World Health Organisation chief Tedros Ghebreyesus says of the complex effort to vaccinate children in Gaza against polio, Al Jazeera reports.
“We call on all parties to continue fulfilling their commitment to the humanitarian pauses so that all children in need get the vaccine.”
The aim is to vaccinate about 640,000 Palestinian children over the next week.
