US Vice President Kamala Harris has said a captives-for-ceasefire deal is needed in Gaza and reiterated that too many innocent civilians are being killed in the enclave, Al Jazeera reports.
The Democratic presidential nominee, however, told CNN that she would not break with President Joe Biden’s policies on Israel, including the delivery of weaponry.
“No,” she said when asked in an interview with the US network on Thursday if she would withhold weapons.
“Israel has a right to defend itself … and how it does so matters. Far too many innocent Palestinians have been killed, and we have got to get a deal done,” she said.
