More than 30 targets in Gaza have been hit by Israeli warplanes over the past day, as soldiers killed dozens of fighters across the enclave, according to the army, Al Jazeera reports.

Among the targets struck were compounds used by fighters, weapons depots, and rocket-launching positions in the southern city of Khan Younis, the military said in a statement.

In Khan Younis and on the outskirts of Deir el-Balah, the army said troops killed dozens of gunmen and destroyed their sites, it added.

In Rafah, another city in the south, operations are continuing in the Tal as-Sultan neighbourhood, where the military killed several fighters.

Meanwhile, in central Gaza, a fighter carrying explosives was killed, and troops struck a rocket-launching site, the army also said.
