KARACHI: A young woman died after being hit by what appeared to be a stray bullet in Gulshan-i-Iqbal in the small hours of Monday morning, police said.

Gulshan-i-Iqbal SHO Abdul Rasool Bughio said Asia Abdul Samad, 26, along with her teenage brother, was driving a car and passing by a government school in Block-6 when a bullet, fired from an unknown direction, hit her in the head. She died on the spot.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

The police said her relatives told them that they did not have any enmity with anyone.
