BAHAWALPUR.: The Vehari additional district and sessions Judge (AD&SJ) has ordered registration of an FIR and departmental action against six officials of Luddan police station for arresting two youths “without any offence”.

The AD&SJ/justice of peace issued these orders on the application of one Sajjad Hussain of mauza Mitha Manjin, in the limits of Luddan police station.

The petitioner, in his application, submitted that on April 19, 2024, his son Usama Sajjad and nephew Haris Nasir were going home on their motorcycle.

He alleged that Luddan Station House Officer Rai Sajid Hussain, Sub Inspector Asad Raza, Assistant Sub Inspector Ashraf, and constables Kamran Ali, Nauman Babar and Arsalan appeared in a police vehicle and arrested the two youths, without any justification.

The petitioner said that the policemen lodged the youths in police station lock-up and impounded their motorcycle in an arbitrary manner.

The judge ordered registration of an FIR against the six police officials, including the SHO.

SUSPECTS INJURED: Three suspected criminals were allegedly injured in two separate police encounters in Kahrore Pucca and Tibba Sultanpur in Vehari district on Thursday.

The DSP claimed that Talib was injured in the firing by his own accomplices, who managed to flee the scene. Talib was admitted to Kahrorepucca THQ Hospital for treatment.

A case against his accomplices has been registered by the police.
