KARACHI: Acting President and Senate chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani on Wednesday visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and offered fateha.

Accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Mr Gilani also visited the basement of the mausoleum and offered his respect to the forefathers buried there. He also shared his thoughts on the visitors’ book, paying tribute to the father of the nation.

Talking to reporters later, he urged all political parties to opt for a dialogue, calling it the only way forward.

To a question regarding dialogue with opposition party, Mr Gilani said that the dialogue was crucial to solve problems but regretted that government in the past was against dialogue which was their “gross mistake.”

Later, he drove to the Bialwal House and held a meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
