LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) dispatched on Friday six trucks of relief goods for the flood-affected people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bokhari told a press conference that relief goods comprising 2,500 ration bags were dispatched to assist the rain and flood-affected families. She said Punjab had consistently played the role of an elder brother for other provinces.
Each hamper, weighing around 20kg, contains essential items such as flour, sugar, ghee, rice, gram flour, and dry milk, catering to the emergency needs of deserving families.
Ms Bokhari reminded the political rival government of KP that that during the dengue outbreak, Shehbaz Sharif as chief minister had dispatched a field hospital to KP.
She criticised KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and his administration for their alleged inactivity, accusing them of only issuing threats.
She noted the lack of new projects in KP, contrasting it with the 38 projects initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the last two months.
She said while the KP government attempted to emulate Punjab’s projects, they failed to achieve similar success. She urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to prioritize the welfare of their people over political considerations.
She said that the governments at the federal and provincial levels are aligned with Nawaz Sharif’s leadership and that his political experience and wisdom in decision-making processes would benefit the governments.
Ms Bokhari said the prime minister had ordered an investigation into the wheat issue, absolving the current government of any involvement.
She assured that the matter concerning standing committees in Punjab would be resolved within a couple of days.
