RAWALPINDI: It was confirmed by the UNCIP here this evening [April 21] that no serious breaches of the cease-fire had taken place in Jammu and Kashmir State. During the past two months, the Commission’s Military Adviser, Lt-Gen Delvoie, received information from military officials of both Pakistan and India alleging violations of the cease-fire agreement. Investigations carried out by UN military observers … however, proved that violations were not serious.

The incidents reported by military officials of both Governments were minor, and subsequent investigations proved that a greater number of these incidents had no real basis. Remaining incidents, with the exception of two, were satisfactorily settled by local commanders in Kashmir, often with the assistance of the UN military observers.

Although no details were given of these two exceptions, it was however, reported that these had been referred to the Military Adviser for action. It was hoped that they would also be solved shortly. It is significant that, out of all complaints received, only these two were referred to General Maurice Delvoie for action.
