KARACHI: Pakistan, it is believed, has strongly protested to Afghanistan against the molestation of Pakistani nationals in Kabul and other Afghan cities. The continued vituperation against Pakistan [by] Radio Kabul and Afghan newspapers is believed to have been the reason for the protest. Close observers of Afghanistan affairs apprehend dangerous possibilities [of] insulting Pakistani nationals in public, and fear repercussions in Pakistan… .
The purpose of the visit of Governor Sir Ambrose Dundas to Karachi … observers believe, is to apprise the Government of Pakistan of the strong anti-Afghanistan feeling in the tribal areas of the NWFP, which has been fanned by Afghanistan’s present attitude and the maltreatment of Pakistani nationals in that country.
… According to observers, the only saving grace lies in the friendly attitude of the people of Afghanistan and their love and regard for their Muslim brethren in Pakistan. They stress that this feeling alone was holding in check an outburst of trouble and unrest against Afghan nationals in Pakistan, and in adjoining areas across the border.
