THIS is with reference to the report “US doesn’t support Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline” (March 27). To be honest, it is no surprise at all. With the United States disgracing itself by being at the beck and call of the Zionist state of Israel, things could not be any different.

American officials squeak like mice in front of Israelis, but choose to roar like lions when dealing with anyone else, including Pakistanis. The sad part is that in our own context, the blame for this disgusting state of affairs does not rest solely with the US. Primarily to blame are Pakistanis, more than 225 million of them, who elect/tolerate the corrupt and inept leaders known for allegedly having built up enviable fortunes at the cost of the country and the nation, which they have brought down to the status of beggars.

And now that an honest effort is being made to bring some sense to the gover- nance by state institutions, the despicable interest groups are joining hands against the institution itself. The main opposi-tion party and its blind supporters in Pakistan and abroad are seeking help and support from the sworn enemies of Muslims. Just imagine Pakistanis seeking support from those who destroyed Iraq, Syria and Libya to please Israel. What a nation we really happen to be.
