Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has said the international community must act firmly to ensure the Israeli bombardment of Gaza does not spill over regionally, Al Jazeera reports.

Speaking alongside his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez, during a joint news conference after talks in Doha, Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate building in Syria’s Damascus.

The Qatari prime minister also called on the international community to ensure that the perpetrators of the attack on the World Central Kitchen aid convoy are held accountable.

Sheikh Mohammed also commended the Spanish government for its recently announced position regarding the recognition of a Palestinian state and hailed Spain’s continued support of UNRWA.
