Sony Pictures is in talks with Nicolas Cage to play the leading role in the Amazon Prime Video-developed Spider-Man Noir series. The series, first announced in February 2023, is reportedly set in a 1930s take on New York City. Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and his performance was met with acclaim from critics and fans alike. It’s unclear how closely this new Spider-Man Noir series will follow that animated portrayal of the hero.

Cage first played Ghost Rider nearly two decades ago and had a recent cameo as Superman in 2023’s The Flash from the DCEU. There is no confirmed release time frame for the Spider-Man Noir.

Moana opened in theatres in 2016 and features the voices of Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jermaine Clement and Alan Tudyk. The film follows Moana (Cravalho), the daughter of a Polynesian chief, as she seeks out the demigod Maui (Johnson) to help save her island’s reef. Disney announced this month that Moana 2 will open in theatres November 27.
