THIS is with reference to the report ‘Pro-Palestine banners barred at PSL games’ (Feb 21). The reason given by the security personnel was that such “political message” and “controversial” message “may have hurt some people”. May I ask what is political and controversial about displaying the sentiment of the whole nation, especially when it concurred with the official stance of the country?

I am shocked that the incident took place in an Islamic country. Its citizens are bieng reprimanded for supporting Palestinians facing the most egregious form of genocide possible. Will the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) forbid the carrying of the Pakistani national flag next, given that it too can hurt the sentiment of Indians? Crazy stuff, really.
