Newly elected members of the Sindh Assembly prayed for the high ranks of martyrs at a session of the provincial legislature today.

Speaking ahead of the election of speaker and deputy speaker, PPP nominee for Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah said Pakistan had gone through a difficult period in the past five months with an uptick in terrorism witnessed.

“The new government needs to tackle that […] today, let’s make dua for our police and armed forces,” he said.

Similarly, MQM-P MPAs also said that they wanted to pray for those party members who had lost their lives in violence ahead of the February 8 general elections.
