Governor Balighur Rehman awards degree to a graduate. — White Star

LAHORE: Up to 748 graduates received their degrees at the 87th convocation of Kinnaird College for Women (KCW) on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Balighur Rehman as the chief guest, along with KCW Principal Prof Dr Rukhsana David, faculty members, students and their parents.

The convocation conferred degrees to 590 undergraduates and 158 MPhil/MS graduates in Language, Literature, Education, Law, Applied Sciences, Business, Art, Design and Media Communication, Physical and Earth Sciences, Biological and Life Sciences.

The college also awarded 32 students with the principal’s honour and merit lists for achieving a CGPA of 3.80 and above, and 16 gold medals to the outstanding students for securing the highest grades in their respective majors.

The KCW achieved the highest pass percentage of 93.59 among all the institutions of the Lahore Board, reflecting its academic excellence and quality education.

In her address, Prof Dr David highlighted the vision and mission of KCW to educate women and empower them to take leadership roles in their practical life.The governor, in his speech, praised the achievements of the KCW and its graduates, and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and contribute to the society and the nation.
