Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned American leaders not to “tie their destiny” to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel’s bloody invasion of Gaza drags on, Al Jazeera reports.

“The full-scale cooperation of Biden and the White House with thugs like Netanyahu in Israel is the root of insecurity in the region,” Amirabdollahian told CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“The US should not, [Joe] Biden should not tie their destiny to the fate of Netanyahu.”

Amirabdollahian also played down alleged Iranian support for Yemen’s Houthi rebel attacks on Red Sea shipping routes in response to Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

“The people of Yemen and other countries in the region who defend the Palestinian people are acting according to their own experience and through their own interests, and they are not receiving any orders or instructions from us,” he said.
