SAHIWAL: Justice Sarfraz Doger of the Multan Bench, Lahore High Court, will hear on 7th a writ petition filed by the Rais of Chichawatni against the rejection of their nomination papers by the returning officer of NA -143 and PP-203.

Reports said ex-MNA Rai Hasan Nawaz, divisional president of PTI, and ex-MNA Rai Murtaza Iqbal’s nomination papers were rejected for NA -143 and PP -203, respectively, on “technical grounds” along with other six other contestants of PTI, including Rana Aftab for NA-141 & PP-199, Ch. Muhammad Asif for NA-142, Major retired Gulam Sarwar for NA-143, Waheed Asghar Dogar for PP-202, Adil Saeed Gujjar for PP-204, Faisal Jalal Dhakoo and Bakhatawar Jalal Dhakoo for PP-201 and Sajad Nasir for PP-198.

Rana Aftab told Dawn Justice Dogar had held a preliminary hearing on Thursday and fixed Jan 07 as the next hearing date.

Report said most of the PTI aspirants were facing criminal cases for their involvement either in May 9 incidents, corruption, occupying commercial land or being defaulters of commercial banks.
