Insensitive society

Published December 10, 2023

HAS our society gone insensitive? Of course, it has. Just look at what is going on in Palestine, and then look around and see if the tragedy has had any kind an impact on our lives beyond the mundane expression of sympathy.

There is a blatant genocide going on against which there is a heroic resistance being put up. At our end, we are busying going through our lives as if nothing is happening at all. We are spending time and energies on shopping, eating out, spending time watching movies and television shows, and, indeed, following the ups and downs of our cricket team.

Just a random comment in condemnation of Israel, and an equally random expression of sympathy, mind you, for the Palestinians is all we do, if at all. If this not insensitivity, what is?
