PESHAWAR: A nine-member caretaker cabinet was sworn in here on Monday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali administered the oath during a ceremony held at the Governor’s House.
Justice retired Irshad Qaisar, Eng Amir Nadeem Durrani, Syed Aamir Abdullah, Eng Ahmad Jan, Dr Najeebullah, Dr Mohammad Qsim Jan, Asif Rafiq, Ahmad Rasool Bangash and Syed Masud Shah took oath as ministers.
These nine members were also part of the previous cabinet, which got dissolved following the death of former caretaker chief minister Mohammad Azam Khan after a brief illness on Saturday.
Amid speculations of a legal crisis in the province, Justice retired Arshad Hussain Shah was appointed as the caretaker Chief Minister after a meeting between former chief minister Mahmood Khan and opposition leader in the last KP Assembly Akram Khan Durrani.
Mr Shah, who was also part of the last caretaker cabinet, was sworn in as the caretaker Chief Minister on Sunday.
Besides Mr Shah, the ceremony was also attended by chief secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan and others.
