KARACHI/LAHORE: Bank branches will remain closed in Lahore and other districts on Friday (tomorrow) due to increasing problem of smog.

The State Bank on Wednesday issued a circular referring to a notification issued by the Punjab government and said it has been decided that all banks and MFBs will keep their branches closed in Lahore division (Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura and Kasur districts), and districts of Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot and Narowal on Friday (tomorrow).

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has announced a public holiday on Friday in the provincial metropolis and seven other districts due to hazardous smog.

A notification issued by the deputy registrar says the chief justice declared Nov 10 as holiday for LHC principal seat Lahore, civil and sessions courts in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot and Narowal.
