OKARA: PML-N central leader Mian Javid Latif, known for being close to the party Quaid, says no-one except Nawaz Sharif is acceptable as the PML-N head or next prime minister.

“No one should think of future scenario minus Nawaz Sharif,” he told media at the residence of N-League former MNA Ch Riazul Haq Juj where several party leaders and workers were present.

Though Latif did not name Shahbaz Sharif, his tone and body language suggested he was conveying a message to the younger Sharif.

He said the PML-N did not expect senior PPP leaders’ tirade against his party and leaders.

He did not respond to questions over Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s meeting with Nawaz in London on Tuesday.

Those present at the gathering included senior leader Ch Muhammad Tanvir, former MNAs Ch Nadeem Abbas Rubera, Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan, Mian Muhammad Moeen Khan Wattoo, former provincial minister Mian Yawar Zaman and former MPAs Ch Javid Allaudin, Malik Ali Abbas Khokhar, Ch Iftikhar Hussain Chachhar, Ch Muneebul Haq, Ch Ghulam Raza Rubera and Mian Noorul Amin Nasir Wattoo.

Party’s district president Mian Muhammad Munir, lawyers wing district president Saima Rashid were also present.

The PML-N leader’s visit was meant to mobilise party workers for grand welcome to party supremo Nawaz Sharif.
