LAKKI MARWAT / DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Ten alleged terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Pezu area of Tank district on Tuesday, said the military’s media wing.

Security forces received intelligence reports about the movements of terrorists in the border area between Lakki Marwat and Tank districts and conducted a raid on a suspected hideout in the highlands of Azamabad, ISPR and local officials added.

As per the ISPR statement, an intense fire exchange took place between troops and the alleged terrorists, 10 of whom were gunned down.

The slain men were allegedly involved in numerous terrorist attacks on security forces as well as extortion and killing of civilians, ISPR claimed.

A huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the alleged terrorists’ possession.

The security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, the statement concluded.
