SWABI: Unknown assailants killed a married youth in Baja village here on Sunday, the police said.

Hasan Dad, father of the deceased, Sabir Hasan, 27, reported to the police that he was told by locals that his son was killed by unknown gunmen on the Topi-Swabi Road near the district headquarters.

He said the deceased, employed in a company in Peshawar, was on way to his workplace when he was targeted.

The complainant said his family had no enmity with anyone.

He, however, said wife of his son had left her home and was living with her parents after developing differences with her husband.

The police registered an FIR against unknown persons and started further investigations.

Meanwhile, newly-posted district police officer Haroon Rasheed has directed the DSPs and SHOs to be present in their respective offices from 3pm to 5pm daily to hear people’s complaints.

He issued the directives on Saturday aiming to reduce distance between the police and people.

“If the request of the complainant is not entertained or the concerned officer shows negligence, then legal departmental action will be taken against him,” he warned.
