BAHAWALNAGAR: The B Division police booked four men on charge of abduction, rape and murder of a married woman.

The first information report (FIR) said a resident of Mohallah Farooqabad, along with three of his accomplices, abducted the woman from outside a grocery shop on Sep 27, bundled her into a car and took her to Lahore.

The abductors promised the family that they would set the woman free if they did not take any legal action against them.

On Saturday afternoon, a caller informed the family that the victim’s body was hanging from a tree in cotton crops near Chak Hotiyana.

The FIR alleged that the woman was killed after rape. Police are investigating the matter from different angles.
