QUETTA: A three-day book fair was inaugurated at the Jinnah Town Library in the provincial capital on Monday.

The book fair has been organised by the Shaheed Baz Muhammad Kakar Foundation with the cooperation of National Book Foundation.

Board of Revenue Balochistan senior member Abdul Saboor Kakar inaugurated the event. Male and female students of various colleges and universities and other people attended the ceremony.

Mr Kakar hailed the book fair and praised the organising bodies. He said the event will attract youth towards reading.

A civilised society can be judged by its education, awareness and inclination towards reading, he added.

Shaheed Baz Muhammad Kakar Foundation Chairman Dr Lal Muhammad Kakar said his organisation aims to establish maximum libraries not only in Quetta but in other towns and cities of the province as well.
