FAISAL Masjid, the national mosque of Pakistan, is a symbol of pride for the country. It is disheartening to see the current state of the mosque, which is in dire need of proper care and maintenance.

During a recent visit, it was evident that the management is not taking adequate measures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in and around the mosque premises. The littering, waste accumulation, and dirty pavements paint a picture of neglect and apathy towards the mosque’s upkeep.

Furthermore, the absence of a proper system for managing visitors’ shoes, and the lack of guidance regarding the need to remove one’s shoes before entering the mosque is seriously unacceptable. This practice is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene inside the mosque, and the mosque’s management should prioritise it.

The parks surrounding the mosque are also in a state of disrepair, with barren landscapes and dirty pavements. These parks are an integral part of the mosque’s surroundings, and their upkeep is necessary for providing visitors with a peaceful and serene environment.

It is the responsibility of the mosque’s management to ensure that Faisal Masjid is maintained properly, and visitors are provided with an environment they deserve. The mosque is a national treasure and a significant religious site, and it has to be treated as such.

The relevant authorities should take immediate action to address these issues and to improve the overall experience for the visitors. It is time to prioritise

the care and maintenance of Faisal Masjid and ensure that it remains a symbol of pride for generations to come.
