CHINIOT: A student was killed while two others suffered injuries when a bus ploughed into them on Chiniot-Pindi Bhattian Road here on Saturday.

Some students of Governemnt Technical College were standing along the road after study at noon and stopping the buses to go back home.

A group of students tried to stop a Lahore-bound bus but its driver ran over them as a result three boys were injured. One of them, Shafqat Hussain, died on the spot while two others Yasir and Shah Nawaz sustained serious injuries.

They were shifted to DHQ Hospital for treatment and further legal action.

Police spokesman Mohsin Hassan said a team was tracing the bus and its driver.

HONOURED: A grade-VIII student at a local school, Muhammad Waseem, who was born with haemophilia disease, wished to become a police officer for a day.

To honour his wish, District Police Officer Abdullah Ahmad made him DPO for a day.

Hassan was brought from his house with official protocol and saluted by

cops on arrival at district police headquarters. He passed a busy day there, chaired a meeting on crime review and met with field formations and station house officers.

At the end of the day, he thanked the DPO and his team for honouring his wish.
